The road to becoming a dentist requires immense dedication and training. It all starts with obtaining an undergraduate degree (usually in a major that’s heavy in math and science). Then, they must be accepted to an accredited dental school in the United States. After 3+ years of extensive in-classroom and hands-on training, they graduate with their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree.
